Superior growth, stronger profitability and robust cash flow generation, combined with a significant valuation discount to European peers, make Alter Ego Media a compelling investment opportunity in the European Media & Entertainment sector, according to TP ICAP.
The investment firm has initiated coverage of Alter Ego Media with a “Buy” rating and an €8.30 price target, implying 33% upside potential from the reference share price of €6.20.
In its November 3 research report, TP ICAP highlights that Alter Ego Media trades at an approximately 30% discount to European peers, including TF1, M6, ITV, RTL, Atresmedia and ProSiebenSat.1, despite delivering higher growth rates, stronger profit margins and substantial cash flow generation.
This disconnect between operating performance and market valuation lies at the heart of TP ICAP’s positive investment thesis.
The brokerage firm highlights that the group’s revenue grew at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16% between 2021 and 2025, while forecasting annual revenue growth of 11% over the 2025-2028 period.
At the same time, the group’s EBIT operating margin expanded significantly, from 3.8% in 2022 to 20.8% in 2025, with TP ICAP forecasting a further increase to 27.7% by 2028.
Transformation and New Growth Drivers
TP ICAP places particular emphasis on the successful restructuring and turnaround of established media assets, including MEGA, To Vima and Ta Nea, which has laid the foundations for a strong and profitable business platform.
At the same time, Alter Ego Media is transforming into a fully integrated Media & Entertainment group, expanding its footprint beyond traditional media and diversifying into new business segments.
The acquisitions of Newsit/Tlife, More.gr and Stages Network are strengthening the group’s revenue diversification, while the Live Entertainment segment could eventually account for as much as 25% of the group’s operating profit.
Further upside potential stems from Alter Ego Media’s participation in the new streaming platform, which TP ICAP estimates could unlock additional value of €0.30-€0.80 per share, alongside annual operating benefits of up to €20 million from content synergies.
Importantly, these potential benefits are not factored into TP ICAP’s €8.30 price target, suggesting additional upside beyond the brokerage firm’s base-case valuation.
Moreover, the group’s 13% stake in Digea, with an estimated value of approximately €15 million, represents another potential source of value creation.
2028 Financial Outlook
For 2028, TP ICAP forecasts revenue of €191.9 million, operating profit (EBIT) of €53.2 million and free cash flow of €36.9 million.
Overall, TP ICAP views Alter Ego Media as a differentiated and compelling investment opportunity within the European Media & Entertainment sector, combining strong profitability, attractive growth prospects and a valuation that remains at a significant discount to its European peers.
