PPC Group has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Kotsovolos (Next Gen Retail Services S.A.) has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of Romanian consumer electronics and home appliances retailer Flanco (Flanco Retail S.A.) from its shareholders, Iulian Stanciu (98%) and Dragos Sirbu (2%), in a transaction valuing the business at €35 million on an enterprise value basis.
The acquisition marks PPC Group’s entry into Romania’s fast-growing €3.6 billion consumer electronics and home appliances market, giving it control of the country’s second-largest physical retail network in the sector. The move builds on the strategy successfully implemented in Greece through the acquisition of Kotsovolos, extending the Group’s integrated retail model into the Romanian market.
The transaction is in line with PPC Group’s 2026-2030 Strategic Plan, accelerating Kotsovolos’ international expansion and transformation into a leading regional player and integrated provider of consumer electronics, home solutions and value-added services across Southeastern Europe. The aim is to create a comprehensive ecosystem of technology, services and energy solutions that makes customers’ everyday lives easier while actively supporting the region’s energy transition.
Through the acquisition, Kotsovolos gains immediate access to an extensive nationwide network of 150 physical stores across more than 100 cities in Romania, with nearly 60,000 sq. m. of retail space, a 37,500 sq. m. third-party logistics platform, more than 1,200 skilled employees and annual footfall exceeding 14 million customer visits.
In a market where brick-and-mortar retail remains a key sales channel, accounting for approximately 70% of total sales, this extensive geographic footprint provides direct access to consumers and a strong local presence, with a network reaching more than 55% of Romanian households.
At the same time, Flanco will continue to expand its operations, while its store network and logistics infrastructure will serve as a key last-mile delivery platform for PPC Group, providing the final point of contact for direct product delivery, installation and customer service.
In this context, PPC Romania will work closely with Flanco, replicating the successful model of joint initiatives and synergies developed by PPC and Kotsovolos in Greece. Flanco’s store network will be used to promote, distribute and provide technical support for PPC Romania’s integrated green transition solutions, including residential solar PV systems, heat pumps, electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and smart energy applications.
